Statement of Student Rights and Responsibilities

BBMTC maintains the right as an institution of private post-secondary education to enforce its policies and to act with due process to disassociate from the program individuals whose activities or public attitudes are not constructive to the goals and purposes of the program. It is our position that successful work with children in a Montessori classroom relies on the ability of the adults involved to act in a positive, professional manner both within the training process and the practicum experience.

Tuition and Fees

Tuition payments are due by the first day of class each semester. Students are to pay up to half the fees on the first day of class each semester. The remaining half can be sub-divided and paid in two successive months to ease pressure on students. In addition to tuition costs, students can expect to purchase textbooks and manuals and supplies for making classroom materials.

Attendance

Methods/theory classes are presented on the course schedule as noted. Students will be notified should classes be canceled due to an emergency. In the event of inclement weather that results in the cancellation of classes, BBMTC will inform students through all the necessary media available. Students may miss no more than 10% of all course sessions including materials making studios, observations and practice labs.

Attendance records are maintained by each instructor

Books and Manuals

Students are responsible for buying their own assigned textbooks and manuals. Most are available for purchase from the school. The BBMTC Montessori Teacher Education Program utilizes a process of multiple evaluations. Each instructor will set the evaluation criteria for participation, projects, examinations and written assignments for his/her course. These criteria will be communicated in the course syllabi and in class as assignments are given.
